Here are our stopmotion animated movies. Each movie is a 2 minute animation entry for the Australia wide ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image) ScreenIT schools movie making competition. The competition is an annual, nation wide even. Each year features a different signature item underpinning the entry. Each entry must be no longer than 2 minutes.
Our grade 5 students (from each of the consecutive years to date) formed production units, generated ideas, storyboards, mock-ups, character design, editing (written and digital), camera work, sets and lighting, audio and much more including scripting, sequencing and timing.
The themes (signature items) were about
1. Water (water conservation in drought conditions): SPLASH.
2. Remote Control (switching from fossil fuels to wind energy systems): ECO’s Lounge
3. Australian Identity in 2008 (what it means to be Australian in a contemporary context) Sally’s Lounge.
